From Inspiration to Innovation: Our Journey
GEMxAPP was founded in response to the specific challenges faced by cannabis businesses in the Oklahoma market. Our founders, who operate retail and wholesale cannabis businesses, encountered various areas of friction, including the inability to market their products on traditional channels, expensive and inefficient advertising options, and difficulty gaining access to traditional merchant services. To address these pain points, Wesley Cox began rapid prototyping a community-driven application that would enable patients and cannabis operators to overcome these challenges. Since then, we have expanded our suite of solutions and services to provide a comprehensive Web 3.0 platform that empowers cannabis operators and wellness brands.

Wesley Cox, the co-founder and CEO, has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He has a proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies, having worked with a wide range of businesses and clients over the years. As an entrepreneur, he is adept at identifying market gaps and developing innovative solutions to address them, bringing these solutions to market quickly and efficiently.
Mohan Chandran, President
Mohan Chandran, the co-founder and President, has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and a proven track record of success as the Executive Director of a global nonprofit organization, where he raised over 60 million dollars for its work for children. He is also the co-founder of Guardian RPM, an innovative telemedicine platform, and is actively involved in the startup ecosystem in Dallas, where he mentors various companies and assists new startups.
Dr. Amitabh Gumman, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Amitabh Gumman, the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, brings over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has a deep understanding of the challenges facing the healthcare industry and is passionate about finding innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Gumman’s unique perspective as a physician and healthcare leader is an invaluable asset to the GEMxAPP team, and he is committed to improving the lives of patients through technology.
Jose Muprappallil, Chief Operating Officer
Jose Muprappallil, the co-founder and COO, brings over 10 years of experience in healthcare management to the team. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce and a Master’s degree in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work, which have helped him blend the medical and business aspects of healthcare. He also serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Home Integration Inc., a non-profit organization working with kids and adults with disabilities, and played a leading role in building Guardian Remote Patient Monitoring tele-medicine platform.
Dr. Mohanlal Syana, MBBS MS
Dr. Mohanlal Syana, a medical professional with over 25 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical industry and clinical research organizations, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the GEMxAPP team, particularly in the areas of clinical drug development and operations, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs, and project and vendor management.
